# Route ![[seki-map.png]] # Planning TODO - Day hiked Alta Peak and Tableland to get used to the elevation - Camping permits # Gear and Food TODO # Day Reports ## Day 1: Road's End, Avalanche Pass, Deadman Canyon, Elizabeth Pass - 28 miles, 9400ft elevation gain - Photos: [Flickr](https://www.flickr.com/photos/bravenboer/albums/72177720327535407/) - [Strava](https://www.strava.com/activities/15041959460) Started at Road's End at 4:30am to try and avoid the sun and heat while ascending to Avalanche Pass. Sun didn't reach me until Sphinx Creek. This all worked out great. Some larger blowdowns and brush on the ascent, but not too bad. Deadman Canyon trail was in good shape. I really enjoyed to view here, in particular Ranger Meadow.
