I had a cool plan for Sunday to go to Big Snow from Snoqualmie Pass via Red Pass. I thought that would be more fun than slogging up the MFK. However, at the end of the Commonwealth Basin I was already soaked from all the wet bushes. I was getting a bit too cold and decided it would be better to stay on a good trail.
I took the right turn up the PCT and headed towards Chikamin. I was in dense fog for the first 4 hours, but then the clouds finally broke open and I got some beautiful views. I tried to get to Chikamin itself, but right when I got to the 3rd class move below the summit it start raining fairly hard and I wasn't confident this was all a great idea. I turned back there and just enjoyed the views. I'll need to go back another day for the true summit of Chikamin.
I only took an iPhone with me today, so photo quality is accordingly.
I did a similar route at 2023-07-23 - PCT to Chikamin Area with better weather and photos, but got a bit less far there.
