Report
Whirlwind is a peak in Garibaldi Park, close to the Kees and Claire Hut. It has very nice views of the ocean of peaks in Garibaldi Park and north of the Whistler area. I had been out in that direction a couple of times before, but conditions were never good enough to summit Whirlwind itself (which is a walk up, but there is some avalanche risk). Friday the conditions were good enough that it was doable. I did it in a day from Whistler village, via Singing Pass. It's a bit of a slog up Singing Pass, but there are worse approaches.
There were some cool incoming clouds that I enjoyed, though I had to rush a bit to stay ahead of the incoming system.
Route
From Whistler village, up Singing Pass to the Kees and Claire Hut, then on to the summit of Whirlwind Peak, and back the same way.
